It’s been several months, but I finally finished designing my new office at The Futur. I decided to create a space around how I work, so I can maximize my productivity and creativity. For the aesthetic, I built everything around the materials of my new standing desk. I went with a dark and minimal look– to emphasize the beautiful walnut tabletop.
The desk is a motorized, sit-stand desk made of walnut wood. I also installed a matching walnut desk drawer to hold all of my writing tools.
For the accessories on my desk, I followed the same design aesthetic, and played with various dark materials and continued the use of walnut for my laptop dock and keyboard tray. The Key element on my desk is my Amazon Echo Spot, which I use to time my focus sprints (which I detail in this video), and control my lighting.
On the other side of the office, I designed a cozy corner to help me decompress and relax between sprints. The visual centerpiece is a beautiful Barcelona chair, surrounded by calming indoor plants. This is my favorite place to sit in, and slow down my thinking.
