Xbox E3 Roundup

This week at the 2016 E3 Expo, fans and event goers were able to experience the latest in Gaming, VR, and interactive. Blind with partners Ayzenberg, made a huge splash at this years Microsoft Xbox show. We created 3 videos that added to the hype and atmosphere of Xbox’s latest announcements.

The show started with the Xbox One S reveal video that opened the briefing to cheering fans on Monday. Also in the show was the announcement video for the Gears of War 4 Limited Edition Xbox Elite Controller. Later in the week, Xbox released the Characters That Matter film on all of their social channels and played live on the E3 showroom floor, to introduce their new lineup of legendary characters and games.

I had so much fun directing these projects with my awesome team at Blind. I even had the chance to witness the briefing live for the first time in my life. The most rewarding thing, when it's all said and done, is being able to see your work on the big screen and have the audience cheer it on– that's the moment I knew my work resonated, and I'd done my job.

We kicked off the Xbox 2016 E3 Press Briefing with the announcement video for their newest console, the Xbox One S. The latest addition to the Xbox Family. Working with our agency partners Ayzenberg, and with the marketing and product ID teams at Microsoft Xbox, we crafted a video that captured the elegance of the newly designed console and the robust features that make it an Xbox. Simply stated, “White is the new black. Smaller is better.” Full project details: http://www.blind.com/work/project/xbox-one-s/
With the richest stories and most compelling characters, this is the biggest year for Xbox games. As a follow up to the E3 “Jump Ahead” film and the “Greatest Games” TV Commercial we created for Xbox last year, we’re back at it with “Characters That Matter,” for E3 2016. This film introduces a new lineup of characters and stories exclusive to Xbox in 2016. http://www.Blind.com
Crush the competition with the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller - Gears of War 4 Limited Edition, featuring a gritty, battle-weathered design, an arsenal of swappable components, Hair Trigger Locks. This video was part of at Xbox's 2016 E3 Briefing. http://www.blind.com/

Graphika Manila 2016 Recap

Graphika Manila is the premier creativity conference in the Philippines, hailed as one of the most influential events on design this side of the world. Since 2006, Graphika Manila has emerged as the must-see event among design professionals and students and has attracted over 20,000 attendees throughout its decade-long existence. Every year is a distinctively inspiring conference, showcasing multidisciplinary creative approaches in identity, art direction, animation, web and even designed environments, as shared by thinkers, collaborators and partners over a two day, jam-packed weekend. The conference focuses on the creative side of design rather than technology. graphikamanila.com/ Graphika Manila 2016 speakers: Valerie Chua (Manila, Philippines) Velvet Spectrum (New York, USA) Si Scott (Manchester, United Kingdom) Imaginary Forces (Los Angeles, California, USA) Vault49 (New York, USA) Timothy Goodman (New York, USA) Patrick Cabral (Manila, Philippines) Blind (Los Angeles, California, USA) Gemma O'Brien (Sydney, Australia) Pixar Animation (San Francisco, California, USA) Tokidoki (Los Angeles, California, USA) Harvey Tolibao (Manila, Philippines) Video produced by:

Spoke in front of 4,000 hungry creative minds. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my creative career.

How to Achieve Design Clarity: Listen

The beginning of any design process should start like a good game of 20 Questions. Every question you ask should cut the possibilities in half, until you have a narrow target to hit. But if you’re making a guess 3 questions into this process, chances are you’re probably going to miss the mark, every time.

Coldplay Ink at the Emmy's

Coldplay “Ink” was in the running for "Original Interactive Program" at the 67th Emmy Awards. Although we didn't take home the win I'm humbled to be considered by such a prestigious community and to have all of you wonderful people behind me.

This is more fuel for my fire to push harder and work towards getting one of those gold statues next year!
